The temperatures all last week
and yesterday's snowfall
reminded us again
that it definitely
is still winter,
even if the first signs
of spring are clearly showing.
This was last friday.
The snowdrops that had been
standing straight up until then
weren't strong enough to stand up
to the spraying of water
that immediately turned to ice
when it hit them.
It all happened when my husband
was spraying the mud from his bike,
away from the house, which is good, but...
in the direction of the snowdrops unfortunately.
in the direction of the snowdrops unfortunately.
All of a sudden the white spots in the garden
we could see from the kitchen window
were gone. A closer look gave us the answer.
Saturday, freezing cold day, not much improvement.
Sunday, we woke up to a white world,
and look, there were the snowdrops again,
alive and kicking, such strong little flowers.
So glad they came through.
On the other end of the garden, I noticed these crocusses on saturday.
And here they are again, on sunday this time.
The first little anemone, in a pot on the terras.
Winter with spring touches or spring with a winter's touch....
Wishing you all a very happy new week!
Marian

Such a pity for these tender tiny flowers to be covered from snow! They only wanted to bring spring's message!!!But, they survive, that's hopeful.

Hallo Marian,
Prachtige foto's!
