The Zinnia Fairy
De Zinnia fee
The ones among you
who have been following my blog
for some time
may have noticed this
flowerfairy in the sidebar.
Wie al een tijdje mijn blog volgt,
zal ongetwijfeld dit bloemenfeetje
al opgemerkt hebben
in de zijbalk.
It's one of the many flowerfairies,
drawn by Cicely Mary Barker.
Het is één van de vele bloemenfeeën
getekend door Cicely Mary Barker.
I love the drawings
and I would love to
find one of her books
with flowerfairies sometime.
Wat vind ik dit mooie
tekeningen en ik hoop
ooit één van haar boeken
met bloemenfeeën te kunnen vinden.
The pictures I show here
are all found on the internet.
De afbeeldingen die je hier ziet
komen allemaal van het internet.
I wanted to share these pictures with you
and also the poem for the
Columbine fairy.
Thought I'd put that one here
because the columbines are blooming now.
Ik wou deze afbeeldingetjes even met jullie delen
en ook het gedichtje dat bij
de akeleienfee hoort.
Ik vond dit wel passen
omdat de akeleien nu bloeien.
Het gedicht is wel in het Engels.
The Song of the Columbine Fairy
Who shall the choosen fairy be
For letter C?
There's Candytuft, and Cornflower blue,
Campanula and Crocus too,
Chrysanthemum so bold and fine,
And the pretty dancing Columbine.
Yes, Columbine! the choice is she;
And with her, see,
An elfin piper, piping sweet
A little tune for those light feet
That dance among the leaves and flowers
In someone's garden.
